This week we’re featuring a few ‘simple’ bikes. In this case simple means not a lot of flashy details; rather, just a basic ride that does it’s job getting you from A to B over the terrain it’s purpose built to traverse.
Lochside Cycles makes a bike for everyday commuting that couldn’t be a lot simpler. It’s a drop bar bike with a flip flop rear hub that can be used either as a fixie or a freewheeled single speed. The bike is made with simple steel, it has a track style geometry, and a front brake with a discreet bar top lever, although it has the proper braze-ons to easily accommodate a rear brake if you’d like that too.
Reflective of the low tech spec this bike costs a relatively low $500 plus taxes, and we have a handful in stock at the time of this posting.
