It wasn’t more than a few years ago that kids bikes were kind of a waste land of forgetten technology and a manufacturer’s afterthought. Maybe that’s a bit harsh, but even from many of the extremely reputable lines we carry the kids bikes on offer were nothing to get excited about.
Things have changed though. Companies like Giant are making kids bikes like the XTC Junior 24″ Disc pictured above. The XTR Junior 24″ Disc has a full 3×7 drivetrain, front suspension, a lightweight aluminum frame, and mechanical disc brakes. It also has frame geometry that resembles the aggreesive angles found on the much-loved adult sized XTC, so kids can feel the performance of a zippy ride.
Cost is $500 plus taxes and they’re available to take for a test anytime.
