The Giant Trance has been one of the very best multipurpose dulies for a number of years now, and it just keeps getting better. That’s in part due to the unbeatable prices Giant delivers them at, but it’s also do to constant advancements on what was a great bike to start with.
For 2017 the Trance Advanced 2 comes in at just $4299 plus taxes. That includes a SRAM GX 1×11 drive train with Guide R hydraulic discs, a RockShox Yari Solo Air 150mm travel fork and Deluxe RT rear shock, and an excellent composite frame, all built around some good 27.5″ hoops.
It also gets you wider hub spacing than ever before, resulting in better chainline and clearance.
There’s little compromise using this bike exclusively as a cross country racer on our local prairie trails, but it’s equally as suited to the worst Canadian Shield rock and technical riding you can throw at it.
