What does a better job of capturing video of your epic rides than the GoPro Hero2 compact, wearable digital camera? The Hero3!
Actually, the Silver edition Hero3, now in stock, has the same video recording specs as the Hero2 (1080p at 30fps or 720p at 60fps in ultra wide angle) but the camera is 30% smaller and 25% lighter. When you’re looking for a camera that’s wearable and mountable smaller and lighter is definitely better.
What’s more, the new Hero3 has built in wifi. Previously you had to purchase a BacPac to wifi enable your GoPro and stream live footage from the camera to your nearby smartphone or tablet. Now that capability is contained conveniently within the camera itself making the wifi setup even lighter and enabling you to extend battery life by using a battery BacPac while using the wifi feature at the same time.
If you’re new to the world of GoPro you should check out the videos below, shot entirely with Hero2 and Hero3’s. The 1st video is the latest feature from GoPro themselves and is pretty inspiring. The 2nd was shot by yours truly on a recent trip to Las Vegas and proves that the video quality is superb, even if the composition and editing can’t compare with GoPro’s official stuff. The 3rd and final video listed below was done by two of our full time mechanics and demonstrates how bike specific footage can be shot using the GoPro. Enjoy.
